LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Goes to SABINE MORRIS Proprietor of
THE WILLOW TREE HOUSE

Throughout the year, the Directors at Media Today Online select individuals who have best demonstrated a proven ability to go that extra mile in not only meeting but exceeding the needs of their clients. Therefore, in line with this philosophy, it gives us pleasure to announce Sabine Morris, Proprietor of THE WILLOW TREE HOUSE - a Victorian Guesthouse located just moments from Blackpool North Rail Station, has been selected to receive the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR SERVICES TO THE HOLIDAY & LEISURE INDUSTRY 2010, an independent Award Programme recognised both locally and nationally.
Media Today Online is always keen to bring attention to those who are providing a product or service that stands out from the crowd and deserves to be appreciated not only by our readers, but also by a wider audience.
Born and raised in Remscheid, Nr. Cologne in Germany, Sabine moved to the UK when she was 21 and lived in London for over twenty years. With two grown-up children, Sabine is delighted with the excellent feedback she and partner Timothy have already received from satisfied clients: “As a small family-run Guesthouse we are able to provide visitors with a truly personal, customer-focused service than they would receive in a larger establishment. We strive to ensure our guests’ needs are met at all times in this way we are sure they will want to come back to us again and again.”
Having taken over the Guesthouse in September 2010, Sabine and her partner Timothy Bartrop have totally refurbished the property and redecorated it throughout, as well as changing its name to THE WILLOW TREE HOUSE, as Sabine explained in a recent interview:
“We have five comfortably furnished Bedrooms - consisting doubles, twins and family rooms, most boasting en-suite facilities and all of which offer the latest in modern facilities including: Freeview colour TV, electric fans, complimentary tea & coffee making facilities and guest toiletries. Hair driers and ironing facilities are also available on request.
Sabine is rightly proud of the delicious, appetising menu offered at the Guesthouse which includes a choice of continental or full English breakfast, plus a wide array of snacks and drinks served throughout the day. “Guests are also welcome to bring their own alcohol and take away meals to have a sit-down meal in our dining room.”
Guests will be spoilt for choice when it comes to leisure activities with the North Pier, Funny Girls, The Winter Garden and Blackpool Tower all within walking distance.
Guest have a “late key” and no restriction how late to return. Sabine only asks her guest to return quietly, so not to disturb other guests. “The guest house is unable to cater for big groups. Therefore we generally do not take Stag and Hen parties. We should also point out that we do have two cats in case you have allergies to cats. They do not mingle with the guest.”
It’s the extra touches that Sabine provides that make all the difference: “If you are celebrating a special birthday or anniversary, we will arrange a surprise gift of a box of chocolate or some flowers for a small fee of £4.00 in your room before your arrival”
Commenting on receiving the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR SERVICES TO THE HOLIDAY & LEISURE INDUSTRY 2010, Sabine went on to say:
“I am surprised to receive any award as specially the Lifetime Achievement Award. I also want to point out that I could not achieve any of this without the support of my close family and my partner Tim.”
