Founded in 1998 by Dave and Kate Silber, the NEXUS TRUST runs a Christian Music Training College that offers one & two year accredited courses in a range of musical instruments and disciplines including Bass, Drums, Guitar, Piano & Keys, Live Sound Engineering and Vocals. The courses comprise: live performance, technique, theory, styles, pursuit of worship, studio, song-writing, music technology, music history and in-depth biblical teaching and Christian discipleship in both classroom and small-group settings. Nexus has recently been accredited by the BAC and is now offering NQF Level 3 Music Practitioner qualifications.

In a recent interview Director Dave Silber explained the philosophy behind the NEXUS: “As well as providing Christian students with the opportunity to extend their musical talents across a range of instruments, NEXUS focuses on training students for life by emphasising Christian discipleship, character development and living lives that represent the full Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thanks to continual investment in cutting-edge professional tools and pro-audio equipment, Nexus students are able to use these state-of-the-art facilities for weekly live-playing workshops, rehearsing and band recording projects.

The organisation is able to draw on the expertise and musical talent of a professional and experienced team including Head of Musical Studies & Guitar Tutor - Rich Hall, Piano,Keys & Music Tech. Tutor - Matthew Cossey, Bass Tutor - Sam Skirrow, Vocal Tutors - Alex Scott & Kate Silber, Drum Tutors - Tim Gordon & Tom Lane, Live Sound Tutor - Trevor Flynn, together with Building Manager - Peter Merrylees, Student Relations Administrator - Heather Flynn and Administrators - Louise Van Der Linden & Kirsty Fraser. In addition to it’s resident staff, Nexus students get input from a range of industry professionals including drummer Donovan Hepburn (Take That), Lianne Carrole (British Jazz Legend), vocalist Sharleen Lipton (Craig David) and many more.

LATEST NEWS: Nexus students and staff will be engaging in a series of sponsored challenges during their annual Rag Week in order to raise funds for the ongoing functioning of the school.
