Founded by Margaret Rees and her business partner, Leonard; Quality Cottages began trading some 30 years ago. The company began life renting out five houses in the small Pembrokeshire hamlet, where it was based but has since gone from strength to strength. Since appearing on the Wish You Were Here television programme in 1982, the response has been overwhelming and led to the development of the Quality Cottages Agency; meeting the demand for holiday properties all over Wales.

Today, the company has over 300 Welsh self catering holiday cottages on its books; from quaint countryside cottages to large barn conversions in some of the finest coastal and rural countryside in Wales from Anglesey in the north and Pembrokeshire and the south coast.

Surrounded by magnificent mountain ranges, gentle rolling countryside and lush river valleys; Wales really is a land of contrast and offers something for everyone through an abundance of wild life, history and attractions, all awaiting discovery!

Wales’ accessibility from the rest of the UK is a huge pull factor for holiday makers. Journeys to Wales and parts of South Wales from the London and Home Counties region take less than four and a half hours – closer than England’s West Country – and from the north; by motorway or dual carriageway, the centre of Pembrokeshire is located within 20 miles of the M4.

It was due to the story of Quality Cottages’ service and the company’s passion to promote the best of Wales that the Directors of the London & Home Counties Todaypublication voted unanimously in favour of awarding the organisation.
